There's a lot about myself I could tell you, but a lot of what I could possibly say isn't exactly interesting, so I'll tell you what I do consider interesting. My life has not been ideal, per say. I am the daughter of a single mom who has struggled to makes end meet (although I am not exactly complaining, since thanks to this I received a generous amount of financial aid from UCSB). My life has consisted of moving around. I am originally from Monterrey, Nuevo León, Mexico. When I was 8, I moved to a Coahuila, Mexico. I lived there for only 2 years before moving to Playa del Carmen, Quintana Roo, Mexico. By the time I was 11, Mexico had become a very dangerous place, so my grandma invited me and my family (my sister and my mother) to come to the United States. We originally planned to live here for only 2 years, but life happens and somehow I ended up here. I learned English, I did what I had to do, and now I am here - a hopeful but worrisome college student struggling to make ends meet, a lover of art but not quite good enough to get through life. Still, I have some hope that art will end up a part of my life somehow. More, you say? What else would you like to know?
Here are some basics:
My favorite movies are (in no particular order): Ghost World, Moonrise Kingdom, Scott Pilgrim vs. The World, The Grand Budapest Hotel, Finding Nemo, Submarine, Pan's Labyrinth, etc.
My favorite shows in the whole wide world are Broad City (look it up, it's worth it) and Parks and Recreation.
I haven't yet found my favorite book in the world but I do enjoy The Book Thief and Perks of Being A Wallflower (a little childish maybe, but who cares).
I have too many favorite bands so listing them would be time consuming and would probably make you yawn. Perhaps I'll show you some of my favorite songs later.
My goal in life is to be happy and to make people happy. That's all we really need, anyway. The "me" I am telling you about now could change in the next months, so I will keep you updated. For now, life is good and I am who I am. I am me. That's what I can tell you.
Some good music for your soul:
Feeling sad?
Feeling hopeless?
Feeling blah?
Feeling in love?
Feeling happy?
Feeling like you wanna FSU?
